Hi there!
I’m Igor, an award-winning fiction writer, an experienced copywriter, and a freelance translator with years of experience in translating novels, short fiction, and comics from both English to Croatian and Croatian to English, open to new creative ventures and challenges!
Novels
My first trilogy in English, A Town Called River and its sequels Seasons of the River and A River in the Dark is an urban fantasy adventure about a Croatian expat returning to his hometown of Rijeka and discovering he’s inherited his grandmother’s magical powers as well as a bunch of problems to go along with them. The trilogy is available in e-pub and print on demand from Shtriga Books.
Short fiction in English
You can read my novella Trial of the Bells, set in the A Town Called River universe but featuring a new protagonist. It’s free and it’s a standalone!
My steampunk tale of sea adventure and terror, Ayelen was published in Villainous Press’ collection Steampunk: The Other Worlds.
Two of my stories can be found in Parsek fanzine’s international issues (127 and Worldcon 2017).
During the 2020 Croatian lockdown I participated in the Decameron 2020 online literary event. My stories The Box and The Hanging Man can be found at the links. The Croatian version of The Hanging Man won a Croatian genre literary award!
You can find me on Instagram, TikTok and BlueSky.
